DISUCSS: 'SENATE CONFIRMATION OF ROBERTS HEARING'

Remember when President Bush said that Roberts has 'integrity,' and I said, 'we shall see?'

Let's take a look NOW:

I'm watching the CNN-version of the HEARING's broadcast. The 'ticker' on the bottom of the screen displays the words, "Roberts will focus a lot on the facts, not opinions."

See it? Isn't it GLARINGLY OBVIOUS?

I'm gonna chalk this one up as 'wrong wording' and let it go at that, for NOW, but log-it carefully for YOU. First off, Judges, especially FEDERAL JUDGES, do NOT go to the 'scene' and log 'facts.' They merely REVIEW OPINIONS OF PREVIOUS JUDGES. Simple, isn't it? So, what part of 'fact' and what part of 'opinion' undermines INTEGRITY? See, you CAN NOT be a JUDGE and IGNORE OPINION -- in FACT, you can NOT be a JUDGE and FOCUS ON FACTS AT ALL. Only OPINIONS.

So, next we have Senator Orin Hatch from Utah asking Mr. Roberts about the OPINIONS of previous JUDGES. Familiar cases to most of us, such as Roe v. Wade, etc. Roberts responds with a rather circuitous remark regarding INTERPRET-THE-LAW or MAKE-THE-LAW. And I ask YOU, WHAT's THE DIFFERENCE?

See, you can NOT INTERPRET LAW withOUT MAKING NEW LAW. So, we're not talking about 'interpretation' of LAW AT ALL -- we're talking about ENDORSING ESTABLISHED PRECIDENT. We're talking about EITHER rubber-stamping previous OPINIONSofLAW -- OR -- we're talking about MAKING LAW. PERIOD.

So, we have INTEGRITY ISSUES IMMEDIATELY, and NOBODY IS PAYING ATTENTION.

Now, Roberts seems like a nice guy to ME, personally, sitting here watching him, his body-language, his presentation, his tonal-inflections and shared countenance. So it's NOT THE INDIVIDUAL. I'm NOT 'attacking' THIS MAN, nor ANY ONE ELSE. Merely looking at the SYSTEM, and this guy, unfortunately, is sitting in the HOT-SEAT.

So, Senator Orin Hatch has just spent an HOUR talking about NOTHING. He has PROVEN the SYSTEM's is BROKEN. AND IT's NOT HIS FAULT EITHER. He has just PROVEN another $100,000,000 dollar WASTEFUL MOMENT in UNREALIZED_HUMAN_SERVICES, which the TaxPayer is FORCED to pay.

How's THAT work? Why so much money? Think about it: each Senator/CongressPerson, etc., has an 'enterouge' who's bread is buttered literally by GOVERNMENT. Don't forget the facilities. Don't forget the utilities. Don't forget the maintenance. Don't forget the property-taxes. And don't forget that at least 20% of EVERY 'VeryEXpensiveHouseOfVERYExpensiveArguments' is sitting around WATCHING THIS ON TV, doing? SPENDING YOUR MONEY, and it's NOT THEIR FAULT.

It's a SYSTEM that is spinning-it's wheels-within-wheels-within-wheels. The end-result? $1.2Trillion-dollar budgets that DO NOT INCLUDE all the 'add-ons.' Money that is 'magically-concocted' and NOT discussed. Domino-effect. And we end up spending $100,000,000 on a MOMENT of NOTHING -- accomplishing NOTHING -- talking about 'talking about' NOTHING -- literally pulling food from the mouths of babes to talk about NOTHING.

Think about it -- if you have some INTEGRITY -- and leave your CrotchPsychology and PsychoBabble-ANALysis about ME out of it. FOCUS on the TOPIC: INTEGRITY. Got ANY? ANY at ALL?

I have THE SOLUTION and everybody is so busy patting themselves on the backs and BLAMING/SHAMING others (mostly ME) for BREATHING, that NOTHING is getting done to FIX THE SYSTEM. The only 'fixing' is figurative 'carpentry,' HAMMERING each other onto CrossesOfSHame.

So, DO NOT BLAME ROBERTS -- he's in the HOT-SEAT. You want YOUR 'cherry-boy' there?
